A Lost Ball in the Tall Grass
As I think about the last time that I played golf-there were a number of times that my ball found the tall grass, the creek, the woods, or even a hidden spot on the golf course not ever to be found by me. It was definitely a good thing that I brought a good supply of golf balls in my bag. On that day I was playing in the Hanover College Athletics Golf Scramble. Fortunately, I was playing with my teammates from the 1997 Hanover Basketball Team. For me the day became more about sharing memories with some friends that I had not seen in quite a few years.
This past weekend I have felt as though my mind was wandering around in that tall grass looking for answers. As my mind wanders it brings with it the wonderful memories of a polite, intelligent, and caring student in my Algebra 2 class. He was full of questions, and constantly striving to be the best in the class. He was mature beyond his age, and he was a joy to be around. Luke Borinstein you have left a mark on my life, and I am thankful to have known you.
As my mind wanders I continue to pray for all that have been affected by this terrible tragedy. I pray for strength for Drew and Beau. I pray for the TC Community, and those feeling sorrow and pain. I hope that you are able to find comfort in your faith. I hope that your wandering will lead you to the great memories you have shared with this wonderful family.
